On April of 2014 a seaport crane was erected along the Limmat River bank in Zürich. There is no maritime trade on the river and no actual seaport either. It was a conceptual art project. Protests from mostly conservative folks drew attention to the spending of more than half a million francs on setting up a rusty old crane.

Soon the crane will come down and the controversy will hopefully be drowned. But there is another competing crane that will remain. It was erected in the small district of Schwamendingen, where I live, far away from any river or ocean, as a humorous counter-cultural statement.

Enjoy the photos.
